ARTIST’S APPROACH
Mixing performance art with experimental theatre and always working intuitively, Jacqueline van de Geer’s non-linear storytelling is infused with dark humour, absurdity and irony. Slipping seamlessly between these varying modes, the result is an evocative hybrid form coming from a uniquely refreshing voice. As such, developing strong connections with viewers is elemental: her performances offer the opportunity for many to become active participants, with these spontaneous exchanges becoming an integral part of her pieces. Intimacy and surprise then surface as key components in her work, facets that irresistibly draw her audiences in.

Superstitions!
Performance, 2018
Superstitions! is a bilingual performance, in which we discuss superstition.
What do we believe to bring luck or bad luck?
Why are we sometimes superstitious?
Which superstitions do you consider true or false?
Those four are invited to discuss superstition, while playing a small board game, passing stations where they are invited to draw cards and discuss the superstition with the other participants.
There are four categories of Superstition cards: Bad Luck, Good luck, Good luck charms, Personal good or bad luck examples to share with the other participants.
