Rendez-vous Angus 2026

Art Souterrain is pleased to present Art and Sustainable Territories, a program developed in collaboration with the Société de développement Angus as part of the Rendez-vous Angus at Technopôle Angus.

Through exhibitions, a conference, and a screening and discussion, the program explores the connections between contemporary art, ecology, the circular economy, and territory.

Art Souterrain presents two new photographic series that explore the question of territory.

With Dormir le fjord, Vincent Drouin offers an immersive look into the little-known world of saltwater ice fishing on the Saguenay Fjord. His photographs reveal the ephemeral fishing villages that emerge each winter across the landscape.

With Mille lieues (les immergées), Éliane Excoffier blurs the boundary between submerged landscapes and shorelines. Her photographs reveal imperceptible presences and liminal spaces, somewhere between reality and imagination.

Displayed on large-scale structures placed directly on the ground, the twenty photographs appear to emerge from the urban landscape, inviting contemplation and discovery.

Ariane Plante is a writer, artist, and curator working in visual and media arts. Active in Quebec’s artistic community since 2005, she has developed and led major exhibition projects, notably for the Mois Multi festival, the Grand Théâtre de Québec, the Foire en art actuel de Québec, and Place des Arts. She has also curated numerous exhibitions, including at the Maison des arts de Laval and the Centre d’art Jacques-et-Michel-Augé, as well as in a variety of other contexts.

A recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and Première Ovation, she has also served on numerous juries. Her work has been presented at festivals and exhibition venues across Quebec, Canada, and France, as well as on online platforms and in various digital publications.
