The artwork lends itself to multiple interpretations. A recognized pixelated image can be linked to an online source. What can be seen there in terms of moving imagery testified to the type of world we live in.
These 2D pieces are, in fact, four-coloured pictures created from image captures of thermal videos uploaded to websites.
By picking out a thousandth of a second frame from an ordinary Internet video, it is possible to recreate the real story or a fiction with the aim of either reintegrating or extracting the source image from its context.
In presenting these narrative collages, which blur the boundary between the natural world and artificial systems, Jérémie Deschamps Bussières is attempting to get the viewer to question everything around them.
This is a form of archeology of the future, as much through images as through the small plaster sculptures that convey information about the period, the materials’ source and their usefulness.
