fuit.es
Biography
Faïza Fehri, Benjamin Muñoz, Jonah Bild-Lowrie, Matisse Apsimon-Megens, Niko Pageau-Timar, and Christian Brun Del Re are collaborators for the soundscape project called fuit.es. This interdisciplinary project creates a discourse between musicians, sound artists, visual artists and programmers. At the core of the collective’s considerations is the juxtaposition of sound and visual imagery.
As opportunities to perform were rarified by the pandemic, the collective gathered towards online space, as it allows them to explore new frontiers and exist internationally. The current shift in musical possibilities, both in the private and public domain, demands a reconsideration of its economy and its politics of diffusion.
About the artwork
fuit.es
The project fuit.es is an online interactive sound installation developed over the last year. This ongoing and collective experimentation seeks creative alternatives to the new streaming industry standards.
As a web-based label in its early stages, fuit.es broadcasts a new overflow of sounds and sights. It is a stream of compositions, an assemblage of artists from various disciplines. With this online radio, the ever-changing interface can be entered and exited at any time.
In the Art Souterrain context, the project is taking a new dimension as it integrates the physical world with a sound sculpture made by Niko Pageau-Timar.
The artists would like to thank Emploi-Québec’s Jeune Volontaire grant.
