Activity Badinage

Description

The artwork

Badinage

Sculpture paper maché and resin, 2019

At first sight, Badinage seems like a pure game of balance and imbalance, full and empty, the contrast between black and white, the rough and the smooth. But the sculpture relies on what seems like gloved hands as the superior mass recalls a face: is this a portrait?
