Arsenal Contemporary Art Montreal is housed in a former 19th century shipyard on the Lachine Canal in the heart of Montreal’s Griffintown neighborhood. Its exhibition halls total 80,000 square feet. Each hall hosts several contemporary art exhibitions every year.
It is the hope of the founders that, through a consistent output of quality programming, Arsenal Contemporary Art will contribute to making Montreal one of the world’s top contemporary art destinations.
Arsenal Contemporary Art Montreal is also home to Arsenal Contemporary’s Artist Residency Program, a program developed to help support Canadian and international artists in their creative process. Throughout the year, artists from all over the world are invited to participate in the program, and to show the work they produced in one or more of Arsenal Contemporary Art’s locations at the end of their stay.
