Morgan Legaré

Montreal, Canada

Born in Trois-Rivières, Morgan Legaré currently lives and works in Montreal. He was exhibited in group shows in galleries such as Laroche/Joncas Gallery (2018) and CIRCA art actuel (2020). He has curated several group exhibitions and collaborated with various partners, including Cirque du Soleil and Art Souterrain. In 2020, Legaré presented his first solo exhibition at Galerie Laroche/Joncas. His work is part of several private collections, including the Majudia Collection.

Morgan Legaré’s installation works are based on 3D renderings and digital prints. This process allows the artist to combine virtual objects and materiality. Printed images, architectures and spatial arrangements enter into dialogue in the exhibition space to generate new cognitive-perceptual experiences.

About the artwork

Automatisation & Contrôle

Automatisation & Contrôle, a work in progress since 2019, refers to automation as a process to grow production output and quality. The artist diverts the tools of the 3D exploration software, resulting in subverted, unfinished works.

Through Automatisation & Contrôle, Morgan Legaré questions the reality of a work accomplished with technology.
