Event CALL FOR ARTISTS : Artch 2020

About

What is Artch?

Artch is an initiative by Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Montréal Centre-Ville (CJE), Art Souterrain and Jack Marketing, in collaboration with Destination Centre-Ville, the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and Concordia University, and supported by the Conseil des arts de Montréal.

The project came naturally into place in alignment with the initial strengths and missions of each partner. This alliance, marked by rich and diverse skill set, allows for a complete approach to the project.

Artch’s mission is to create a firmly rooted emerging contemporary art market in downtown Montreal by orchestrating a new happening for enthusiasts, visual art professionals and the public. The public space thus becomes a dissemination platform for emerging artists in the visual arts. Pop-up installations combining design, urban planning and architecture will showcase the works while creating an immersive experience for buyers, passersby and professionals alike.

Artch is a sharing platform whose goal is to promote emerging artists by offering them training and putting them in touch with the business community. The project is also focused on training new collectors, mobilizing cultural players and introducing the public to the visual arts.

To best achieve these goals, Artch centres around two main actions for artists:
