Biography

Olivia Turchyniak (1996) is an emerging Canadian artist based in Montreal, QC. She graduated from Dawson College with a DEC in Visual Arts, and is currently studying Studio Arts at Concordia University. Turchyniak is a conceptual interdisciplinary artist working in oil, drawing and sculpture.

Artistic project

Five Crucial Tips to Outrun Marina Abramovic is an exhibition of interactive works curated by Olivier Forgues, in collaboration with Art Souterrain.  Nine multidisciplinary artists move from leisure to idleness and offer you the results - some of the art is edible, and that’s a perk. Virtuoso, slackers: can they work together? Tongue-in-cheek, engrossing, and above all interactive, these new works blur the boundary between artist and audience, the academy and play. From the everyday to the uncanny, expect digital trompe-l’oeil, celebrity lookalikes, inflatables, and (impeccably tasteful) genitalia.
