Megan Young is an American multimedia installation artist. The human body and physical reality are at the core of her practice. Her interactive installations, performances and digital portraits introduce new social rules. She uses the digital universe as a means of resistance to established norms, examining the limits and failings of the system in order to question it and make it evolve.
The digital installation And Me In My Place explores the relationship between work and identity. The artist met with employees in Chicago at their workplace. Under her guidance, they were filmed going about their daily routines trying to exceed what is normally expected of them. These video sequences create experimental, contemporary portraits that showcase the tacit codes that permeate our work and the roles we play every day in our professional activity.
