Mark Jenkins is an artist from the United States, mostly known for his street installations blurring the lines between fiction and reality. He re-defines the limits of sculpture in the public sphere and uses the streets as a “stage” where his figures interact with passersby. He held solo showsat Lazarides Gallery (London), at Ruttkowski Gallery (Cologne) and at Carmichael Gallery (Los Angeles).
Mark Jenkins creates hyperrealist sculptures made of tape cast on human body. They challenge passersby’ sense of irony and humor to another level. More than just static figures, they question everything around it – normative realities, cultural structures and accepted conventions.
