Biography

Emily Spooner is a Montreal based artist who focuses primarily on figurative painting and drawing, with an interest in portraiture and the human body. Born in 1996, she graduated from Dawson College’s Visual Arts program and is now attending Concordia in the Painting and Drawing program.

Artistic Project

Five Crucial Tips to Outrun Marina Abramovic is an exhibition of interactive works curated by Olivier Forgues, in collaboration with Art Souterrain.  Nine multidisciplinary artists move from leisure to idleness and offer you the results - some of the art is edible, and that’s a perk. Virtuoso, slackers: can they work together? Tongue-in-cheek, engrossing, and above all interactive, these new works blur the boundary between artist and audience, the academy and play. From the everyday to the uncanny, expect digital trompe-l’oeil, celebrity lookalikes, inflatables, and (impeccably tasteful) genitalia
